Muzayadah (sale by auction)
A sale in which buyers bid against each other and the asset goes to the highest bidder.
Muzayadah is a sale by auction, in which prospective buyers bid against one another and the asset is sold to the highest bidder. Bank Negara Malaysia's compilation of Shariah resolutions defines it as a sale based on bidding or auction and, in a resolution on sukuk bidding methods, notes that contemporary scholars consider it permissible. Auctions appear in sukuk issuance, in the sale of pledged assets and in commodity platforms, so the bidding rules, the bids received and the award should all be recorded.
